The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a prestigious graduate scholarship that offers mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and a global community to help students make a significant impact on the world.
How to Apply:
- Personal Information:
- Share details about yourself and your family.
- Community and Extra-Curricular Activities:
- Provide information on your community involvement, extracurricular activities, work history, and any breaks you’ve taken. This helps us understand how you spend your time outside of the classroom.
- Essays:
- Submit several short essays (225-300 words each). These essays are your chance to reflect on your goals, influences, meaningful experiences, and significant “course corrections”. Expand on activities listed in your application or provide new examples.
- Transcripts:
- Upload all university transcripts (PDF files). Both official and unofficial transcripts are accepted. While GPA is important, we are more interested in how well you fit with your proposed graduate program.
- Resumé:
- Upload a one-page resumé in PDF format with a minimum font size of 10. Photos are not required.
- References:
- Two reference forms must be completed before the application deadline:
- Academic Reference: From someone familiar with your academic work.
- Community Reference: From someone familiar with your community involvement.
- If your school is not listed, you will need an endorsement from the school provost or VC.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the 2025 cohort, you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- You are a current student on track to earn your first bachelor’s degree by August 2025.
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree in the last five years (January 2019 or later).
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago and are 30 years or younger in 2024.
You must also meet the minimum degree and language requirements for McGill master’s program admission.
