If you’re planning to obtain a short-term visa that allows multiple entries into Schengen Area countries, consider applying for a German Schengen visa. According to a Schengen news report, Germany offers the highest chances for obtaining such a visa.
“Despite being the second most sought-after Schengen Area destination, Germany’s rates of multiple-entry visa issuance have remained high. Newly released Schengen Visa Statistics show that 90.4% of visas issued by German consulates in 2023 were multiple-entry,” the report states.
This percentage is only slightly lower than in 2022, when 90.6% of short-term visas issued by Germany allowed multiple entries into the Schengen Area.
Austria: A Strong Contender
Austria ranks second after Germany, with 75.7% of its issued visas being multiple-entry. During the same period, Austrian consulates processed 229,613 Schengen visa applications and approved 194,273 of them, including 147,021 multiple-entry visas.
In 2022, Austria maintained a similar approval rate of 74.9%, issuing 125,275 visas, with a notable increase in its ranking from fourth place.
Italy: A Reliable Third Option
Italy is also a reliable choice for obtaining a multiple-entry Schengen visa, ranking third in 2023. The country issued multiple-entry visas to 70.2% of recipients, which amounted to 680,794 out of 970,073 visas granted.
When considering your options for a multiple-entry Schengen visa, Germany stands out as the top choice, followed by Austria and Italy, making these countries ideal for frequent travelers to the Schengen Area.
